New Laws, New Standards
This year, the EU introduced the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), which requires European companies to report on their sustainability performance in the ESG area. This new law establishes (European) standards known as the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), which help companies report consistently and make their impact transparent. Although not all companies are subject to this law, its effects are being felt widely.

ESG and the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) go hand in hand. The SDGs are 17 sustainable development goals designed to create a world without poverty, protect the planet, and promote prosperity for all. So, what is the connection with ESG?
