
The goal
We both believe that when people are connected to a community, the city thrives. Through this engaging newsletter content, we want to inspire the Joyn user community wherever the map takes them. By sharing stories about local entrepreneurs, we want to encourage people to shop more mindfully and support businesses in their own neighborhoods.

Our social story
We engage local writers, often from our Chase community, and empower them to write stories about the places they love. We ensure that there are two monthly newsletters with engaging content, one in Flanders and one in Wallonia. We often provide writers with some initial ideas, but we also give them the freedom to write creatively on their own. Our account manager Dina comments on this: “In this project, I’ve really noticed that talented people are much more motivated when you give them some artistic freedom. Take the story below, for example—the beautiful illustrations were all the author’s idea!”

The result
The average open rate for the May and June newsletters we created for Joyn was 23%, which is well above the 15% average open rate for e-coupon newsletters.
